Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure the qualification and approval of suppliers supplying externally manufactured medical devices, decide on the debarring and deactivation of suppliers
  • Perform regular supplier audits and initiate as well as monitor required measures
  • Prepare and execute global/regional and local quality assurance agreements on behalf of Olympus and make sure Olympus commitments are held in all sites
  • Work in a joint team with Olympus procurement and supply chain management for supplier selection, supplier evaluation, supplier development, supplier risk management
  • Participate in category (strategy) boards of the category Medical Devices; develop and execute strategy for the supplier quality assurance activities together with the Category Manager for suppliers of the category and promote the strategy within the organisation
  • Lead supplier improvement projects
  • Analyse supplier quality KPIs, make necessary decisions and initiate actions as required
  • Support facility audits by outside agencies (i.e. FDA, ISO / MDSAP)

Your Qualifications

  • Academic degree in Engineering, Life Science, Physical Science or similar and ideally also in Business Management
  • Long-standing experience in supplier quality management of medical device suppliers with global/regional footprint
  • Expertise in the applied interpretation of worldwide regulatory standards and laws applicable to the medical device, e.g. ISO, QSR, GMP, jPAL, cGMP
  • Certified and experienced Supplier Quality Auditor
  • High level of quality tools and methodology skills (e.g. 8D, 5-Whys, FMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Excellent communication and project management skills; intercultural skills with diverse cultural approach
  • Very good English and German language knowledge, since this is a global/regional role based in Germany
  • Focused, target driven with a positive, can-do attitude and a desire to improve patient experience as well as company performance
  • Travel of 30–40% should be expected
